North Carolina’s top-rated golf courses

Golf is one of those sports that I wish I knew how to play but is boring to watch on TV. I do give the sport a lot of credit, because it takes technique and probably is not that easy to master.

McConnell Golf has five of the top-rated golf courses in North Carolina

It’s safe to say I won’t be swinging a club on a course designed by McConnell Golf any time soon. The Raleigh-based golf course design company has spent millions of dollars upgrading its seven private clubs around the Carolinas. And the work has paid off well.

Five of McConnell’s seven designs have been ranked among the best of North Carolina’s Top 100 golf courses– a prestigious honor.

Leading the way was Old North State Club, which is not new news to McConnell, at No. 3 overall. Sedgefield Country Club, home to the PGA Tour’s Wyndham Championship, rolled in at No. 19. The Raleigh Country Club followed closely behind. Rounding out the final two are Treyburn Country Club and Cardinal Golf & Country Club.

You should give golf a go, you sound like you might be interested and I have to agree it’s not the most eventful sport to watch on the TV however playing it is a different story. I think everyone needs to try it at some point and if you are in a good place for it with nice surroundings, great weather there’s no sport that can beat it in my opinion. Good Luck
